Mines in West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire's Caphouse Colliery, sunk in the 1770s or 1780s, has a shaft that is quite possibly the oldest still in everyday use anywhere in Britain — though today that use is as the National Coal Mining Museum for England rather than as a working pit.

Part of Yorkshire.
