Weardale Lead Company
Took over the Beaumont company's Weardale leases in 1883 after the collapse in lead prices, running the Killhope operation from 1884 until production ceased in 1910. It increasingly worked for fluorspar, used as an iron-making flux, as lead extraction declined through the later 19th and 20th centuries, reopening Stanhopeburn in 1906 specifically to work the fluorspar ground discovered decades earlier by the Beaumont Company's lead workings.
