Overview
An assembly of smaller tin setts -- including Wheal Penzance and Little Bounds Mine -- worked together on the plateau west of St Just, between Nanpean farm and Cape Cornwall, on lodes now buried beneath a golf course.
History
St Just Amalgamated Mines brought together several smaller tin workings, including Wheal Penzance and Little Bounds Mine, exploiting a series of west to north-west trending lodes on the plateau west of St Just. The Geological Survey's own 1907 memoir on the Land's End district recorded chalcocite and chalcopyrite copper ore here alongside the area's tin, and the wider mineral suite recorded across the sett -- cassiterite, native copper, pyrite, quartz (including amethyst and smoky quartz varieties), schorl and tenorite among others -- reflects a typical Cornish tin-copper lode's mix of primary ore and secondary oxidation minerals.
Geology
The setts worked a series of west to north-west trending tin lodes in the St Just mining district, carrying cassiterite with copper minerals including chalcocite and chalcopyrite.
Workings
An assembly of smaller tin mines, among them Wheal Penzance and Little Bounds Mine, working several lodes across the plateau; no shaft names, depths or dates of working for the individual setts are recorded.
Closure
The closure date is not known for the amalgamated concern. The site was reclaimed and is now a golf course, which removed the surface evidence that might otherwise have dated the end of working.

Most of the sett is now occupied by a golf course; its dumps have been levelled and surface traces of mining removed.
