Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI)
Imperial Chemical Industries was formed in 1926 by the merger of Britain's four largest chemical companies and grew into one of the world's biggest chemical manufacturers, active in explosives, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals and plastics. It was acquired by the Dutch group AkzoNobel in 2008.
