Mines in Stirling
Stirling's Cononish mine, high above Tyndrum, is Scotland's only currently operating gold mine, developed on a modern industrial scale from the 1980s onward — a striking contrast to the region's older, long-exhausted lead and silver workings elsewhere in Scotland.
