Bell Brothers

Formed by Isaac Lowthian, Thomas and John Bell, developed the Skelton ironstone mines from 1862 (leasing mineral rights from Mr Wharton of Skelton Castle) to supply their own ironworks at Port Clarence; operated Skelton Park Pit from 1872 to 1923.
