Mines in Denbighshire
Denbighshire's karstic limestone country around Loggerheads and the River Alyn was extensively worked for lead and zinc through the 18th and 19th centuries, its old mine workings and a leat built in 1824 to serve the Mold mines now folded into the popular Loggerheads Country Park.
