Braysdown Colliery
- The BGS mine-plans catalogue holds a Mining Remediation Authority abandonment plan titled 'Braysdown' (catalogue SWR258, Top Little Vein & Radstock Group, dated 1910); the catalogue gives no location and the plan's details do not clearly tie it to this working, so it may belong to another of the same name. (uncertain)
Browns Folly Mine
- The folly was commissioned in 1849. (disputed)
Burrow Farm Mine
- The engine house is dated to 1879 by the Geograph record and by accounts of the mine's reopening; the Exmoor HER and some published summaries give 1880. Either way it stood for at most four working years before closure in 1883. (disputed)
Conygre Colliery
- The Durham Mining Museum's returns give the colliery as opened in 1791 and closed in 1918, with the Lower pit, sunk 1847, closed in March 1914. (disputed)
- The Timsbury accounts state that both Upper and Lower Conygre closed in 1916, ending coal mining in the village. (disputed)
- The BGS mine-plans catalogue holds a Mining Remediation Authority abandonment plan titled 'Conygre' (catalogue SWR3345, Unnamed Seam "X" "Y", undated in the catalogue); the catalogue gives no location and the plan's details do not clearly tie it to this working, so it may belong to another of the same name. (uncertain)
Dunkerton Colliery
- The closing year is given as 1925 by one source and 1933 by another; the Lists of Mines still return three people at the colliery in 1933. (disputed)
Gurney Slade Quarry
- Wikipedia says work began at the quarry in the mid eighteenth century; the British Geological Survey's history of the East Mendip quarries says it began on a small scale in the mid nineteenth century, with some accounts giving Francis Flower's lime-burning here as starting in 1873. (disputed)
Hayeswood Colliery
- The shaft was 642 feet deep. (disputed)
- The shaft was 164 fathoms deep, with a pumping shaft 190 yards deep beside it. (disputed)
Higher Pitts Mine
- The Somerset Manganese and Iron Ore Co. was formed in 1890 to work Higher Pitts Mine, under manager Willcox, but closed within a few years -- sources differ on whether work ceased in 1891 or the company closed the mine in 1893. (disputed)
Newbury Colliery
