Overview
The easternmost working in a mineralised zone running from Elerslie, near Crosby, west to Niarbyl on the Manx coast -- the same zone that includes the much larger and richer Foxdale Mines.
History
Elerslie Mine, near Crosby in the parish of Marown, marks the eastern end of a mineralised zone that runs west across the Isle of Man to Niarbyl on the coast near Dalby -- the same geological trend that produced the island's richest workings at Foxdale, further west along the same line. The mine and its associated estate took the name Elerslie (also spelt Ellerslie) after the Renfrewshire home of William Wallace. Elerslie's own operating dates, shaft depth and output are not recorded separately from those of the much better-documented Foxdale group it adjoins.

Lead at the eastern end of the mineralised zone that runs west across the Isle of Man to Niarbyl on the coast.
