Executors of John Hargreaves
The Burnley coal company founded on the Reverend John Hargreaves' acquisition of most of the district's mineral leaseholds in 1797, trading under this name after his death. It sank Bank Hall Colliery between 1865 and 1869. The business passed by marriage to the Thursby family, Sir John Hardy Thursby of which gave Queen's Park to Burnley Corporation in 1888.
