A fall of roof during repairs in a roadway.
What happened
On 9 March 1895 a timbering gang was repairing a roadway at Gelli Colliery when the roof came in on them. The timberman William Davies, 26 or 27, his assistant William Steger, 39, and Rees Morgan, 54, were all killed.
