William Turner

A quarry adventurer who took the Dorothea lease around 1829 and gave the workings his own name, Cloddfa Turner. He was one of the outside entrepreneurs who opened up the Nantlle valley in the 1820s and 1830s, and the quarry cleared some £2,000 a year under him before returns fell and it was put up for sale in 1848.
