MineArchiveMountsorrel Granite Company
Formed to acquire quarrying rights over the Broad Hill workings in 1872, the company built the Mountsorrel Railway to reach the Midland Railway and grew the quarry into one of the biggest employers in the village by the outbreak of the First World War. It was absorbed into Redland in 1960.
