John Thompson and Sons
The Northwich salt firm of John Thompson senior (died 1867), his son John Thompson junior and grandson Henry Ingram Thompson, which sank and ran rock-salt mines and salt works at Wincham, Witton and Marston from the 1840s. Most of the business was sold to the Salt Union in 1888; Henry Ingram Thompson went on to build the Lion Salt Works in 1894.
