John Campbell, Marquess of Breadalbane

John Campbell, 2nd Marquess of Breadalbane, developed the Tomnadashan copper mine on his Loch Tay estate from 1842 in an ultimately unprofitable search for mineral wealth in the Highlands; the mine closed in 1862 following his death.
