Cory Brothers and Company Ltd
The Cardiff coal and shipping firm of the Cory Brothers, among the largest exporters of Welsh steam coal. They formed the Pentre and Church Colliery Company, which took Pentre Colliery over in 1861, and the Inspector of Mines' list for 1896 records the Pentre Upper and Lower pits as theirs, employing 1,125 men.
