MineArchiveBurnyeat, Brown and Company
A coal company drawn largely from Liverpool and Whitehaven and headed by William Burnyeat of Whitehaven, whose directors included ironmasters, shipowners and a Member of Parliament. It bought Lletty Shenkin Colliery at Cwmbach in 1872 and sank Nine Mile Point Colliery in the Sirhowy valley from 1902.
