Fifteenth Seigneur of Sark, from 1820 until his death in 1839. In 1834 he granted the mining concession under which John Hunt opened the island's copper and silver mines, and in 1835 he bought the land that became the Seigneurie gardens. He drowned when the boat carrying him to Guernsey was lost in a tidal race off Sark, and was succeeded by his brother Ernest.
