Yewthwaite and Newlands United Mines Ltd
The company formed by Henry Vercoe, a mining engineer of Portinscale who also had interests in the Barrow and Brandlehow mines, which took the mine up in 1883 and did little with it; the lease was assigned to the calico printer Joseph Cunliffe in 1887 and the company kept the same name.
