William Pritchard Morgan
William Pritchard Morgan (1844-1924) acquired Gwynfynydd Gold Mine in 1887 and developed it into one of the two most productive mines in the Dolgellau gold belt, earning himself the nickname the 'Welsh gold king'; he later sat as Member of Parliament for Merthyr Tydfil.
