Bought Aberpergwm Colliery in 1920, consolidating it with the neighbouring Pwllfaron drift mine; by 1923 the combined operation employed over 1,000 men underground and 200 on the surface, rising to around 1,500 by 1927. The company was itself absorbed into Amalgamated Anthracite Collieries Ltd in 1928-29.
