The County Durham company that opened Deaf Hill Colliery in 1877 and held it until nationalisation in 1947. It should not be confused with the owners of the neighbouring Trimdon Grange Colliery, which was worked by Walter Scott Ltd and then East Hetton Collieries Ltd.
