Surrender Company

Lessee of the Surrender lead workings in Swaledale, and builder of the 1841 smelt mill that survives as one of the best-preserved in the Yorkshire Dales — put up to satisfy a lease of 1839 requiring the lessees to build a new mill and 500 yards of flue within two years.
