South Yorkshire Miners' Association

The South Yorkshire miners' trade union, which through a Mr Dallas and a company of colliers bought Shirland Colliery in Derbyshire in 1875 for £72,000 and offered its managership to the union man Philip Casey; the venture failed within two years.
