Sneyd Collieries Ltd.
The twentieth-century form of the Sneyd company at Burslem, owner of the colliery at the time of the 1942 explosion, with an output of 450,000 tons a year and some 2,300 employees between the wars; it gave £5,000 to the disaster relief fund and paid the victims' funeral expenses.
