Sir Hugh Owen
A Pembrokeshire landowner recorded as having installed the steam engine that did the haulage and pumping at the Garden Pit, Landshipping, around 1800 — the investment that allowed the shaft to be deepened and the workings driven out under the Daucleddau. No fuller record of his role in the colliery's ownership has been found.
