Richard Tapsell

Succeeded his uncle John Legas in 1752, continuing to supply cast-iron ordnance to the Board of Ordnance from Gloucester Furnace and other Wealden ironworks in partnership with William Harrison's sons through the Seven Years' War. His bankruptcy in 1765 broke up the partnership and idled most of its furnaces and forges; Gloucester Furnace alone continued working afterward.
