Returned as the owner of Darkhill Colliery in the official 1880 list of collieries at work — the year the level produced 4,206 tons. Nothing further is recorded of the company, and the firm is not named in the Forest of Dean Local History Society’s account of the gale’s descent from David Mushet to Thomas Bennett Brain.
