Penwyllt Dinas Silica Brick Company

Quarried silica sand at Pwll Byfre and manufactured refractory bricks for industrial furnaces at the Penwyllt brick works, which was served by a narrow-gauge railway with a rope-worked incline and stood beside the Neath and Brecon Railway. The works closed in 1937 or 1939.
