New British Iron Company
Black Country ironmaking company, successor to the British Iron Company, with works and collieries around Corngreaves and Halesowen. It opened New Hawne Colliery at Hawne, which began producing coal in 1864 and is regarded as the last working colliery in the Black Country; ownership later passed to the family of the coal-master Shelah Garratt.
