Nailstone Colliery Company

Took over the colliery in 1887 on the death of the owner who had restarted it in 1883, and held it until nationalisation. Under the company the pit was re-equipped — a pitch-pine tandem headgear about 1898, a Walker Brothers centrifugal fan in 1899 — and worked the Upper and Lower Main seams described in the Colliery Guardian survey of that year.
