Kneeshaw and Lupton

A Liverpool firm which took control of quarrying at Nant Gwrtheyrn in 1861 and opened a quarry on the southern side of the bay, working it for granite setts shipped to Liverpool, Manchester and Birkenhead. It built the terraces, manager's house and chapel that made up the quarry village.
