John Watson & Co.
The Glasgow firm that bought the Bathville site in June 1859 for £10,000 and built a brickworks there within months to use the fireclay coming up with the coal. Watson & Co. became one of the biggest coalmasters in Lanarkshire but ran into financial trouble in 1874, when Bathville was sold to James Wood.
