John Towlerton Leather

Civil engineer and contractor (Portland breakwater, Spithead forts) and founder of the Hunslet Engine Company, who opened Waterloo Main Colliery on the Temple Newsam estate, Leeds, in the early 1850s and was long its proprietor.
