John Legas
Wadhurst-based ironmaster who, with Thomas Hussey, took the lease of Gloucester Furnace from the Gott family in the early 1720s, and from 1741 ran it and several other Wealden ironworks in partnership with the London merchant William Harrison. Died in 1752, passing the business to his nephew-in-law Richard Tapsell.
