James Platt and Son
James and Herbert Platt, trading as James Platt and Son, salt makers who ran the Albert Salt Works and its rock-salt mine at Marston, near Northwich, in the 1870s and 1880s. The works, with three open pans, was bought by the Salt Union in October 1888.
