The company that reopened the long-abandoned Black Mine at Hyde in the 1880s by driving tunnels from the Two-feet mine under the direction of its mining engineer John Higson of Manchester; trading as Hyde Lane Colliery Ltd of Manchester Road, Hyde, by 1902.
