Hook Colliery Co

Hook Colliery in Pembrokeshire was opened around 1849/50 by Thomas Harcourt Powell and later passed through several owners trading as the Hook Colliery Co; at its peak the anthracite pit employed over 250 men and exported coal as far as Singapore and the West Indies, before flooding forced its closure in 1948, a year after nationalisation.
