Gilbert and Bourne
The partnership marked as working the Marston salt works and rock-salt mine on a map of 1786. It was led by John Gilbert, land agent to the Duke of Bridgewater, who took a lease at Marston in 1776 and sank the mine to the bottom bed of rock salt in 1781.
