Evans and Bevan
The mine-owning partnership of the Evans and Bevan families, proprietors of collieries in the Dulais and Neath valleys. It sank Seven Sisters Colliery from 1872; the colliery, and then the village, took their name from the sisters present at the cutting of the first sod.
