Erskine family, Earls of Mar

The Alloa Tower family who owned the coal of the Clackmannanshire ground and employed the mining engineers who worked it. Alexander Bald was their colliery agent at Alloa and his son Robert Bald their engineer and manager; the family's lease of the collieries expired in 1835.
