Edward Protheroe (Park End)

Owner of the Park End Colliery and ironworks and of New Fancy Colliery, offered for sale by private contract in 1840; the Park End Colliery then comprised the Park End Main, Park End Royal, Ivy Moorhead, Birches Well and Brookhall Ditches pits, worked by seven steam engines in six veins. He is returned as the owner of Brookhall Ditches in the March 1841 return.
