Duke of Devonshire (Grassington)
The Dukes of Devonshire became Lords of the Manor of Grassington through an 18th-century marriage, and from 1792 built up the lead mines on Grassington Moor, including a new cupola smelt mill, taking an increasingly active role in the workings through the 18th and 19th centuries.
