Donisthorpe Colliery Company Limited

Formed in 1903 to take control of both the Lower and Upper pits, which until then had been worked by different companies, and later part of the Moira Colliery Company combine. Over its first sixteen years it electrified the mine, built a generating plant, steel headframes and new winding gear, acquired fifty houses for its men and tripled output to 300,000 tons a year. It joined the Moira Colliery Co. and the Donington Sanitary Pipe & Fire Brick Co. in raising the Bath Lane war memorial at Moira.
