Desford Coal Company
Registered in 1900 to sink a colliery south-east of Bagworth, on the initiative of Ernest Bramall, a mining and mechanical engineer and the son of a Lancashire colliery owner. It worked Desford until nationalisation and drove the Merrylees drifts in 1942.
