MineArchiveDenaby Main Colliery Company
The company for which the two Denaby shafts were sunk in 1863, owned by Messrs Pope and Pearson, succeeding an abandoned attempt by Waring & Co. from 1856. It owned the village’s housing, and obtained eviction orders against 750 tenant families during the Bag Muck Strike of 1902–3.
