Dalton Main Collieries Limited

Floated on the London Stock Exchange in December 1899, having been registered the previous year as the Roundwood and Dalton Colliery Limited. It was set up by the Sheffield steelmaker John Brown and Company to buy the Roundwood colliery and to sink a new deep pit at Silverwood; by 1909 John Brown were its sole proprietors.
