MineArchiveCaerbryn and Empire Collieries Co. Ltd
Took over the Empire colliery at Cwmgwrach in late 1908 by Tony Cooke's account, and is credited by the Welsh Coal Mines page itself with sinking the Empire pit into the old level in 1903; the Empire colliery was abandoned in January 1909.
