Broughton and Plas Power Coal Company
The Denbighshire colliery company formed in 1881 out of the Old Broughton Coal Company and the Plas Power Coal Company, under Henry Robertson and W. H. and C. E. Derby. It worked Plas Power and Gatewen, took over Bersham and Smelt collieries in 1912, and was a pioneer of electric power underground, generating at Plas Power for its other pits.
