Arkwright Colliery Company
A company set up under the umbrella of the Staveley Coal and Iron Company in 1938, trading as S. E. Short and Company of 7 Glumangate, Chesterfield, to drive and work the Arkwright drifts; its founders were Rex Ringham as chairman and Harold Berrisford as secretary, with John Hunter and Harold Kirk as colliery agents.
